Octagonal barrel in breech for 50 milimeters, round for the rest. Threading to 4 right-handed flat lines, step milimeters 2.000. Flown fixed view-finder in, heel of sight on fixed hoof with adjustable cursor till 800 m. Slab to motivating force behind model 1847. Bayonet mod.1822 or mod.1847 with triangular blade and tubular graft.
Employment :
: the arm was created purposely for the Zouaves regiments constituting the armament from 1851 to 1857. Sergeants and Corporals carried also the dagger mod.1831 that it was instead in equipment to all the effectives in the Zouaves regiment of the Imperial Guard.
Musket of artillery, striped, mod. 1822 T ;
caliber 17,6 milimeters, length 96,5 cm, weight Kg. 2,55. The arm is born like transformation of model 1829 to flint. Beginning from the 1849 were introduced increased barrel to the aim of the assembly of the bayonets mod. 1842 and with the presence of the nail on the bottom of the combustion chamber, Thouvenin’s system. Beginning from the 1856 the nail was eliminated thus being able to be used the bullet of the Minié’s system. Octagonal barrel in breech for 15/45 milimeters, reduced, round for the rest. Threading to 4 right-handed flat lines, step milimeters 1.100. Flown fixed view-finder in, heel of sight on fixed hoof with adjustable cursor till 600 m. Slab to motivating force ahead, long milimeters 130. Sabre bayonet with yatagan blade model 1842. Length of the blade milimeters 575x33; total milimeters 675. Blade to a thread, with tip and fort back, rabbet centers them long milimeters 425. Guard in iron with ring for the barrel. Grip, in brass, to spout with 15 rabbets of taken and to longitudinal rabbet on the back for the implantation. Button with motivating force for the release.
Employment:
from 1851 to the 1857 this musket it’s in common use, still the not prescribed equipment, for Sergeants and buglers. In the Zouaves Regiment of the Guard from 1855 to 1857 it was prescribed equipment for buglers only, being all the effectives, comprised the Sergeants, equipped of rifle mod.1842T, bayonet and dagger mod.1831.

Transformation of the mod. 1853, evolution of the mod.1846, introduces as difference the elimination of the nail on the bottom of the combustion chamber to use the bullet of the Minié system. Octagonal barrel in breech for 80 milimeters, round for the rest. Threading to 4 right-handed flat lines, step flown milimeters 2,000 fixed View-finder in, heel of sight on fixed hoof with adjustable cursor till 1.000 m. Saber bayonet mod.1842 with yatagan blade.
Employment :
beginning from 1857 the mod. 1853 T carbine was the armament of alls Zouaves regiments. Beginning 1860 was placed the mod. 1859, practically identical one to the precedence mod.1853 being already to the origin lacking on the nail.
Breechloading rifle, striped, mod. 1866 “Chassepot”
; caliber 11 milimeter, length 1,30 m, weight Kg. 4,1. It uses a cartridge of paper with bullet of the weight of 24 gr. Characteristic the rotating shutter, with packing in caucciu to containing the escape of gas and to increase the speed of bullet, that it caught up 403 ms. Flown fixed view-finder in, heel of sight on fixed hoof with adjustable cursor till 1.200 m. Saber bayonet model 1866 with blade to yatagan; similar to the model 1842 but with lightened blade and a different guard.
Employment
beginning from the 1867 Chassepot was the rifle of all the French infantry. From 1874 it was replaced in the 'Armée from the mod. 1874 “Gras”, similar to the Chassepot but with burnished barrel and use only metallic cartridges.
